London Borough of Bromley pilots successful Magic Notes AI tool

This #GoodNewsFriday we hear from Bromley鈥檚 Adult Social Care Transformation and Improvement team about their experience trialling the Magic Notes AI tool.

Bromley’s Adult Social Care Transformation and Improvement team completed a successful pilot of Magic Notes, an artificial intelligence (AI) powered tool designed to support social care professionals transcribe their conversations into a templated format.

Following positive results, the tool will be rolled out to staff involved in case management by the end of September 2025.

The pilot revealed several benefits:

• Improved accuracy and quality: Practitioners reported that Magic Notes helped produce clearer, more comprehensive case notes, enhancing both professional documentation and service user experience.
• Efficiency gains: The time taken to write assessments and reviews was reduced by 20%, freeing up valuable time for direct care and support.
• High user satisfaction: 83% of the group said they would continue using Magic Notes.
• Ease of use: The tool was rated easy to use by staff across the pilot group.

An independent evaluation was carried out by the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE), Bromley’s Strategic Delivery Partner. The review included key findings and recommendations that will inform the next phase of implementation and future enhancements.

Now looking ahead, in addition to expanding Magic Notes to their operational teams, Bromley is exploring the wider use of AI tools such as Co-pilot to ensure that the tool meets the needs of teams across the whole service.
