Managers play a vital role in helping the workforce be heard.

Many people working in adult social care will only hear about the survey because a trusted manager shares it with them and encourages them to take part. By promoting the survey and making time available during working hours where possible, you can help ensure that staff from across your organisation have the opportunity to share their experiences.

The survey asks about the issues that affect people's working lives every day, including pay, wellbeing, workplace experiences, training and development and future career plans.

Giving staff the time and space to complete the survey demonstrates that their views matter and helps build a stronger picture of what it's really like to work in adult social care today.

The more people who take part, the stronger the evidence about what's working well, what's challenging and where improvements may be needed.

Practical ways to support participation

  • Share the survey link with your staff and colleagues.
  • Encourage staff to complete the survey during work time where possible.
  • Discuss the survey in team meetings and staff briefings.
  • Display posters and promotional materials in staff areas.
  • Use internal communication channels such as email, newsletters, intranet pages and staff WhatsApp or Teams groups.
  • Remind staff that all responses are confidential.
